Hold your ears this goes on and on...
When I think of the best way of educating my kids the mental image I have involves an environment that they will be stimulated and curiosity will not only motivate them but it would creep into their bones. That my children would find a passion, a love for something that lets them open up their inside and not be fearful to let other look into them. A place in my home is where it all begins, it can...

Yesterday when I was working there was a lady and her mother that came through my line to check out. I was chatting with them about some of the items that they were purchasing, when the mother looks at me and says, “You’re kind of normal compared to other people that work here.” I was kind of taken back and then I was offended. I told her about my plans to wear my hot pink...
Whoa! I just remembered that I had this Tumblr spot. Whoa! What an adventurous way to start the morning.

around here
This week I have on the menu two loaves of country white bread, macaroni and cheese, breaded chicken nuggets and blueberry pancakes (for first day of school). Now that I look at this line up I realize that I’m about to go to the store and buy the most butter I have in one trip. On the list is wheat germ and veggies, so back off.
Next Monday the 23rd is the first day of home schooling....

I'm feeling chatty.
Today was productive, after waking early this morning and finishing an episode of Wire in the Blood (amazing show), I managed to wake Daniel (stayed up late) at about 11 and we made ourselves a hearty breakfast. It took him a while to get moving but after some tea and a sit in our front room, he was a bit more stimulated. And so our discussions progressed…
First, where my kids are going to...
complete rambling
When I take time to think of my work, I think of myself in a small dark cement room with a couple direct lights shining up the wet canvas I have attempted to abuse. I also think of myself about 20 lbs. thinner with long dark ringlets. Yes, I’ve seen this in a movie too, okay so it’s unrealistic but enchanting anyway. I do read Jane Austin and Chopin so I know enchanting. We all wonder...
The other day he says, ” I think one of the best decisions we’ve made with this house is to remove the curtain off the front window.” I shift my weight to the other leg and think about this. I think he’s right.

blah...
Recently I had a great idea that if we sell our house, find jobs out toward the country and find a small house in the country where our kids can live a real life without the distraction of electronic items and get dirt under their nails. So I took the adventure by the horns and began a search.
I’m sure when I was IMing my husband asking him to look at this job and what about this house, he...
reflection
I’m sitting on the third floor of our house. I recently claimed this space as my own, well half of it. My computer and desk are perched up now higher into the sky, closer to the storms that occasionally quench us. When I look to my left I can see the rain pound on roof tops. I’m closer to the strikes of lightening and the thunder is amplified. This brings back my uneasiness with storms...

Her: "How can I help you?"
Me: "Are you a monkey?"
Her: "Bingo. So, we can't give you those forms because you didn't file them, and they've got her personal information on them."
Me: "Right. But she's on Facebook, so all that personal information is already on 50 million harddrives."
Her: "Good point. But we don't do that."

creative sacking
One of my favorite things that my boy’s have been doing is story making. What they do is start with one piece of paper and they both add to the picture while they narrate their story. As you can image their stories get pretty deep, including spin off stories on other sheets and adding characters that must be a specific shade of blue. Today we had a slight break for some time of sticking...
I was trying to enter into a drawing off one of my receipts and received an error, I was trying to get support and didn’t, I was trying to remain calm but can’t. It’s not going well for me today.
On the other side Daniel told me he loved me with the most sincerity this morning, I can’t stop thinking about it.
stuff your face
Tonight I’m going to juice up some pancake mix and eggs for dinner. I’m also going to find a cake recipe for the green cake we’re making this weekend to celebrate the Earth and our garden and I’m going to allow my boys to wrestle in the house because telling them to stop seems a pointless endeavor, they’ll have to learn the hard way. The piles around the house are...
voting constraint in Ohio
I went to vote today and when I walked in and handed over my ID I was asked if I wanted the Democrat or Republican ballot. Last I heard there were a few options but I wasn’t offered them at the poll. I wasn’t informed what the parties stood for, etc. Also my local paper only covered the individuals for the democratic and republican parties. Should I say bias? Can I say bull-shit? Sure,...
signs from above
If zodiac signs aren’t true then why do they seem like it when I’m reading them? Today at the library Daniel jokingly pointed out a zodiac love book. I picked it up just to peek in and suddenly I found myself searching the internet to confirm or deny what I read. I’m Scorpio and he’s Libra and according to the book, we aren’t a good match. It makes sense why our...

'an eater's manifesto'
I picked up In Defense of Food once again, happened upon it in the library next to some Steven Hawking books, which I found odd. I flipped it open and read a little about the creation of our food ideas in America. I’ve been experimenting with cooking more and found that I battle with the idea of savoring and allowing myself to enjoy food. I’m tired of feeling guilty about eating and I...
Today I was watching a CET Arts show on Waiting for the Barbarian made into an opera by Philip Glass. This was the second time I’ve seen this show but this time, something different struck me, his comments on being taken into another world through creativity. Creativity that you are choosing to express. His place away is music and his friend is a writer, he talks about having the ability to...
head aching
When I think of the way I’ve viewed others and their choices, I kind of feel cowardly. Instead of taking a moment to give them a break or “place myself in their shoes”, I’ve always been quick to roll my eyes or send a look of disgust to them. I wonder why I’ve become so short with people and embraced that I really don’t like people. We are all are trying to make...
Small detour
Grocers in Cincinnati need to get their acts together.
After swimming this morning, I was going to stop at Kroger to pick up some items. The selection was, well, not good and the prices went up. So, I placed all my items back where they were from (that was for you Daniel) and I walked out. I decided to go to Findley Market in downtown Cincinnati, where I can buy fresh farm eggs for half the cost...

Apple Cinnamon Raisin Oatmeal Bread
Last night I was determined to bake some bread. There was a small twist, I have no bread pan. The recipe I used was here. Like many people that commented I also modified the recipe because I didn’t have chunky apple sauce (not sure if I’ve seen this in years at the store), I didn’t have 1 cup of white sugar, so I used brown, oh and I used 1 Tbsp of cinnamon in error (this is not...

Thinking Education
Do we all assume that education is something taught in a classroom with walls decorated with colorful posters of the alphabet? Of course, that’s most of our memories of the place where we drudged through the day waiting for dismissal. The laborious corrections of papers and telling authority what they wanted to hear. I look back at my school years as little more than “getting...

In process
I just checked on the beef and it seems kind of rough. I’m only into the first hour of cooking in the oven @ 325, although I’ve turned it down to 315. Julia says to adjust the temp so it simmers slowly.
The smell is delightful! If it’s not eatable then I will put the pot in the center of the table and use it a potpourri for a couple of weeks.
I try to read ahead, I’ve...

Julia Child's is taking over.
Today I’m attempting to make Julia Child’s Beef Bourguignon. I’m nervous, I keep rereading the recipe and it’s not getting any easier. I know I should keep in mind that mistakes were only small bumps that Julia could easily glide over and I can do the same. I’ll let you know how it goes, might even take a picture.

Swedish Meatballs
With the motivation of Julie & Julia I thought it was time to take on some cooking of my own. I enjoy cooking new recipes and eating tasty foods. Last night I made meatballs. I didn’t make them totally from scratch, I cheated on the gravy and purchased the meatballs from Findley Market last week, oh and the recipe I was following, well I had to change it up a little also. I used:

Something New
At the acupuncturist yesterday:
Me: The needle in my left knee is noticeable (meaning hurts).
Her: Is the pain shooting down your leg?
Me: Yes. (breathing deeply)
Her: Good! If you can tolerate the pain let’s just leave it there.
This is my second visit and I’m certain the first was to make me think this was going to be a breeze. Now, I’m thinking that I’m going to...

Bought some hot pink lipstick for the man, the man looked shocked, now likes it. I’m going to drink all his PBR.

I met this woman who said to me, “there is nothing more rewarding then being with someone at the end, to hear their final words, to hold their hands as they leave us in the world.” I will never forget her.

- Tweef seems to be a term that used, not sure of the definition at this point. When checking into this I saw many pictures of asses and what appear to be Glamour Shots images, I know what this tells me, but what does it tell you?
{orig.} I want to recognize the term Tweef. I think we all deserve this one.

I’m getting ready to go read with a couple of kids from my sons class (the ones on the low end of the scale, if you know what I mean) and I can honestly say that I am not worried that I have some horrible gas, the kids never seem to notice when I drop the hot ones around them.

Good people. Also, got a $10 gift certificate today from Red Lobster, this did not make me rub my eyes.
